Editing Services
I am absolutely thrilled to be launching my editing services. It has been something I've wanted to do for a long time, as I have had much experience with proofreading, beta reading, and editing others' works.

I have an education in English and teaching, and I have been proofreading and editing for almost a decade now.
I run the writer's group for our local library and have line edit and copy-edited several novels for our group, including Amazon Bestselling Author Dwight Parrish's poetry collection.

I do a sample edit of the first two pages of your short story or novel for FREE, so you can see if I'm the right fit for your story!
If you decide to proceed after the sample, 50% will be asked upfront as a deposit. The remainder of the balance will be paid once the job is complete.

DEVELOPMENTAL EDIT
A developmental edit is an in-depth analysis of the novel. Ideal for new authors, or for those looking to expand their skills. Encompasses feedback about characters, plot, and other big-picture things.

Short stories: $.002 per word, or $25 flat rate up to 15,000 words
Novellas/Novels: $.003 per word, or $100 up to 50,000 words.

LINE EDIT
Line edits are my favorite edits, and assist with clarification. Sentence structure, info dumping, repetitive word usage, inconsistencies in characterization or plot: this covers it all! Sort of like beta reading, but more intense.

Short stories: $.004 per word, or $40 flat rate up to 15,000 words
Novellas/Novels: $.005 per word, or $200 up to 50,000 words.

PROOFREADING / TECHNICAL EDITS
I'll check for typos, punctuation, and formatting issues- all of the stuff a second pair of eyes should check out before sending the manuscript off to the publisher. This step refrains from structural edits.
