“Lightning whipped across the sky, washing the room in a blinding, white light, followed closely by a thunder that rumbled the house. I continued to stare at the ceiling, breathing quietly, listening. Something had woken me up, but I wasn’t quite sure what it was…“
In my “HEY ITS MAY 9TH” goals post, I mentioned a book I was writing called Blood. Now, you might (or might not) be wondering, what is ‘Blood’? You’re probably not, but I’m gonna tell you anyways!
Blood is my ‘newest’ brainchild, and I use newest in quotations due to the fact that I’ve had the idea in my head just kind of floating since 7th grade, but haven’t written it because it seemed pretty dark.
Blood is loosely based off of an… *grimaces* an Eyeless Jack X Reader Creepypasta fanfiction I read all way back when and such called Chains. Don’t get me wrong, the writer did an absolutely fantastic job at writing her story and it was brilliant.
I’m just ashamed that was a time in my life is all. Heh
Anyways, the premise for Blood is that Yvenne is living with her adopted uncle after both of her parents decide they don’t want her anymore. One night an eerie howling wakes her, and she wanders into the forbidden basement of the house to find her uncle has been keeping a vampire imprisoned. She sets him free and he attacks her, and rushes off before she can convince him to just leave. He kills her uncle in his starvation, and knows he cannot leave Yvenne with a body, so he kidnaps her and takes her to his cabin in the woods. Bartholomew wants to keep her safe, but Yvenne thinks he wants to eat her.
I’m in the process of writing it, and it’s not as dark as I thought it would be, but it is still edgy, and I like that. I have happy endings planned eventually, but yeah! It’ll be a clean romance, as always, but I’m super excited to play with emotions and scenarios and also magical creatures in this book.
I know I want there to be a jerk werewolf who tries to get in he– ahem, tries to convince her she is his soulmate (Barth shuts him down plenty, don’t worry), a succubus who makes it her duty to torment Yvenne, and an Erlking that doesn’t play in until the end of the book. Those characters probably won’t be introduced until the second book or until the end of Blood, because I want it small scale, but they’re some of the reasons that Yvenne cannot leave the cabin.
I made aesthetic of Blood, as seen below, and I’m in love with how it turned out! (I also learned that spell-check can be evil and that ‘atheistic’ is definitely not ‘aesthetic’!)

Shout-out to my amazing friend Elisabeth Gallagher, whom (I cannot find the blog link to!) randomly texted me the other day and asked where in London Brooks from My British Bear is from. For future reference, he’s from Windsor. 😉
Have absolutely amazing days!
