AND THEY ARE GONNA BE
REAL 👏 IS 👏 TIC 👏
imagine that.
(Actually so I started writing this then was run off the road and crashed my car into a ditch so I am struggling but its fine, everything is fine, ahhhhhhhhhhhh)
So, it’s 2020, right?
A very satisfying number, a very satisfying start to the new decade.
So, we are basing everything off of the number 20!
(It’s like sesame street up in here)
I had three rules for making these goals, however.
The goals had to be:
Kind
Forgivable
Achievable
In the past I have made myself harsh, undoable goals, and had horrible results.
So, this one time, I made something I can actually do!
My goal is to read 20 books by the end of 2020!
Does this mean I will have to double up on a few months of reading books? Well, yeah, but that’s perfectly fine!
All of the twenty books are ones I’ve been wanting to read for a very, very long time, or they are ones I think will be good reads and be good for collecting feelings for future novels.
The books are:
Unwind
Unwholly
Unsouled
Undivided
Daughter of the Pirate King
Dust to Flames
The Dressmaker’s Secret
Penny from Heaven
Darkness of Dragons
The Lost Continent
The Hive Queen
The Poison Jungle
The Traveller
Fangirl
To Kill a Kingdom
Shadowscale
The Legend of the Rift
The Stealthmaster’s Shadow
The City of Ember
A Curse as Dark as Gold
What’s convenient is at least half of them are audiobooks available through the Libby app (an amazing app, you’ve got to get it). I’ve said before I drive close to 2 hours a day, so I’ll be able to finish audiobooks really quickly. For example, I’m already halfway done with Penny from Heaven. I also do a lot of cleaning, and audiobooks are great for when I can’t read due to dusting off desks.
There are a few, like the Unwind series, which are not audiobooks, but that’s alright! I need to actually read words too, so during the summer I will definitely be able to indulge in those that are not audiobooks.
And, although I know unwinding children you don’t want isn’t exactly the wholesome base for My British Bear 2,
I’m stilling hoping that I can some inspiration for other novels (The Chronicles of Salt and Blood 2, The Fall of Niesium, Shadow, etc).
My writing goals are rather simple, and much less crazy than I’ve done before.
I’m going to finish editing Fragments of Time, and I hope to write the draft of My British Bear 2. I also hope to finish the second Mosaics book. As I finished Fragments of Time during NaNo last year, I’m very optimistic that I will be able to complete the second one in the same amount of time.
Although it is not as ambitious as usual, college starts in the fall, I can’t be too crazy.
ugh. college starts in the fall. someone remind me its worth it. blech.
These are different from writing goals because it isn’t necessarily writing. It’s just author-y things.
Over the course of the year I hope to publish both Slave of the Sea (I’m waiting for the proof copy yet, should be hear by the 6th though), and Fragments of Time.
I really am hoping to sell a lot more than 20 copies of Slave of the Sea, but we’ll set a realistic goal of 20 and hope for the best.
I also have a mega-huge author fair in April that I’ll definitely advertise and blog about. I’m so excited for that. Besides that, I have 2 podcasts that I’m going to be interviewed on, so that’ll be awesome too!
I hope to do a lot of author stuff in 2020, but we will see what happens!
Blogging!
I really am hoping to do a book review of all fo the twenty books I’m reading, and then I’m hoping for an additional 20 blog posts.
That would be forty blog posts! That’s half what I’ve ever posted!
I split my blogs into four categories of five:
5 blog posts about people/ adventures
(This is to trick me into actually doing things, teehee)
5 blog posts about my own writing
(This will be easy, I’ve already got it planned nearly
Slave of the Sea release
NaNoWriMo
Slave of the Sea Giveaway Stuff)
5 blog posts about language
5 blog posts about anything else!
(Ha ha! This counts as one! Guess that means? Now I only have 19 extra blog posts to write!)
I also want to refresh the blog look and make it a little more professional, but we will just work with what we have for now!
My ambitions for my YouTube channel aren’t as wonderful as I am hoping to actually achieve, but we will see.
I’m hoping for at least one 2-minute skit, and a 4 minute animation (20 seconds per month should be beyond doable). I want to get a Remarks brand drawing tablet, so that will help with animating, and I’ve always to create skits, so why not start now!

And that’s it, folks! No special money saving plans, no dream trips, no losing weight or excising. Just a few goals and a lot of floating with what happens!
What about you guys? What’s your goals?
