All the fairytales you’ve heard are wrong. They’ve all been twisted to be acceptable for general consumption, but I’m here to set the record straight. I’m Solem Anders, Mirror-Hunter, and this is what really happened.
A Series of Unfortunate Events meets Disney in this short story series as Solem Anders pursues a volatile magic mirror across Ambrel, seeking to destroy it and end its trail of tragedy. But when princess Eira steps in his path and enlists his help to overthrow her mother, he is lured into her Pack by the promise of information. Is this the shortest path to the mirror, or just a treacherous diversion?
With the mirror barely out of reach, Solem’s time is ticking away, and he’ll lose far more than a princess when the clock strikes.
As we get the hype going for R.M. Archer’s Mirror-Hunter Chronicles, I have an interview for you all to enjoy!
Hello, Anson. It is so lovely to have you here with us today. I have ten questions for you, about yourself and your journey, if you wouldn’t mind answering them. *sips tea*
The first one is, of course, why are you and your cousin, Solem, looking for this mysterious mirror?
So that we can keep it out of the hands of those who would misuse it. *bitterly* And ideally destroy it and put it out of our misery.
Interesting… what do you think about this whole quest for the mirror?
I’m glad to not be a huge part of it. I’ve been trying to avoid that mirror for most of my life.
Would you mind telling us a little about your life?
*shrugs* Not much to tell. I was raised in a large house with a good father and a cruel stepmother, I lost my sister when we were older children, I inherited the house–and all its cursed relics–when my father died many years later. When I moved to Grell, to get away from Ambrel and the relics and the house, I ended up working for a princess with twisted motives and betrayed her. Now she wants my head, and I won’t have peace until she somehow dies or miraculously loses interest in me.
Would you mind telling us a bit about yourself, Anson?
Even less to tell. I’m pretty bitter and antisocial nowadays. *heaves a sigh* I used to have some spirit, and now I’m mostly tired and wishing I could put adventure and magic behind me.
Understandable, with all what you’ve told us. What do you want most in life?
Peace and quiet. W
On to happier questions, shall we? What do you think of Kinley, your compassionate, patient, minor witch ally?
*lightens up a little* She’s a dear friend, almost a grandmother. It’s been far too long since I visited her shop.
What are your favorite things to do?
I like to read. I’m a frequent patron of the nearby bookstore. Most of my time, really, is spent reading.
Do you have any favorite colors?
Anything but black, silver, and gold. Bad memories associated with all three of those.
How about any favorite animals?
I’ve never been much of an animal person, but I suppose I wouldn’t mind a hound.
I hound would be a suitable pet, I believe. Now for the final question; what are three words you just absolutely love? I’m willing to bet mirror is not one of them.
Tea, books, and chocolate. Any of the three will perk my ears up immediately.
Well, it was nice getting to know you, and thank you so much for your time today, Anson!
